Parks One of the best things to do on Lopez is visit the parks and beaches. Shark Reef Sanctuary - located around the corner from the reception on the south west corner of the island. Seals, views of San Juan Island and the peninsula. Spencer Spit State Park - located on the east side of the island Agate Beach and Iceberg Point - located on the south end of the island. This is a particular favorite, but can be tricky to get to. Park by Agate Beach and head further down the road. It'll look like you're heading up a private road, but keep heading. There will be a right turn marked Iceberg Point and it's about half a mile out to the water. Lopez Hill - In the center of the island near the school, there is a series of trails on 400 acres. Activities Lopez Island Farmer's Market - The farmer's market is running from 10am to 2pm on Saturday mornings. Golf - roughly one mile from the venue is the Lopez Island Golf course Bike and Kayak Rental - Near the Island resort in the village you can rent bike or kayak Wine Tasting - The Lopez Island Vineyard has a tasting room that may be open. Restaurants Here are some Restaurants and Coffee Shops The Lopez Island Village Market also has a deli, take out pizza, and other food available. It's a full grocery store so you should be able to find whatever you need there. Shopping Besides the farmer's market, there are a variety of small stores in the village area. This includes the lopez island thrift store. A short walk away is the dump, which also has a huge section of usable/donated things which can be fun to look through. |
